The corona pandemic has dominated our lives for more than a year. More than ever, companies have had to make a digital shift at a rapid pace. Facility & industrial services company Iris shows that even smaller local players can play a leading role in this. Their project WeWork - which tracks performance of Iris employees in real-time - was recently awarded a 2020 Corporate IT Award in the "Operational effectiveness" category.
To manage all operations on the shop floor, Iris has built out a sophisticated IT system called WeWork. This new application - which seamlessly integrates data with other systems such as the ERP, payroll and digital clock systems - is used daily for onboarding new co-workers, collecting employee data, creating contracts, and scheduling and recording performance. WeWork reduces the workload associated with the administrative management of employees, thereby increasing operational efficiency. For example, newly hired employees now sign their contracts digitally and do not always have to come on site, for example.

But not only for the employees does this system offer numerous advantages. It also gives customers a quick and clear view of the time spent by Iris employees. This allows for proactive intervention in case of absence or delays without the customer noticing anything.
The WeWork project was just awarded a Corporate IT Award in the 'Operational effectiveness' category. Vincent Delforce, IT & Digital Director at Iris, is particularly pleased with this recognition: "It shows that local players can also play a leading role in the digital transformation process. WeWork is a particularly high-performance application, which was developed with the Low-Code , a modern way to quickly develop applications for web or mobile. It refers to visual development that abstracts and automates each step of the application development life cycle, to reduce the complexity and time required to deliver custom applications. Without this technology, and the Agile methodology used, it would have taken us much longer to develop WeWork !"
